We shot Jasveena best friends wedding back in Jan 2012 and I assumed that is how she found us. We met Jasveena and her mum one afternoon about a year before her wedding that must have been the longest meeting we have ever had. We must have spoke for an hour and not even about photos. After that meeting and listening to her ideas we knew we wanted to shoot this wedding. I mean marigold garlands as a mandap and in a garden what could be better. This was also one of the first times I've only meet the groom on the wedding day as Pankeel is from London and wasn't coming down before the wedding. Although I must say I felt like I knew him as Jasveena spoke a lot about him. She also moved to London a few months before and I can only imagine how challenging it was to plan from so far. This was such a fresh wedding to shoot, people had fun and no one was rushing to leave. I particularly loved Pankeels traditional bharaat arrival his guest danced to beat of the dholak all the way to the entrance. When looking at Indian weddings overseas its quite sad to think that here in SA we've lost the fun in our weddings somehow. We should get it back I think it makes it memorable.
