Roheet and Praveshni had a small engagement ceremony. We did a mini e-shoot before the actual engagement. Roheet and Mitesh are really good friend. I think Mits knows Roheet for most of his life. It different shooting couples we know as friends as they don't ever see us work. So it was weird for us to be shooting them and them to see us working. However the really awesome thing about shooting friends is that they are super comfortable around us. So we get a really natural feel to the pics which is something we always looking for. What I thought was turning out to be a very mild winter at the time of this shoot was definitely not the case this week as we actually had snow fall in Johannesburg. Tiya and Arya's shoot was our last bit of winter. These girls are gorgeous. We did one bit of the shoot in bright fun playful colours and the other bit was pink and pretty. The bluish sky and golden light on the day of the shoot was picture perfect. We all where supper dusty after the shoot but looking at the images I'd say it was well worth it.
Bhavani and Aakash first met at a Science expo in high school and later started dating when they both moved to Johannesburg. The couples wedding took place at Kendra in Durban.
Bhavani says the highlight of her wedding day was when she walked onto the stage and Akaash threw petals down for her as she walked in. The couple honeymooned in Koh Samui in Thailand. This weddings contact sheet Décor: Spot On Lighting & Decor - Sanveer 0824508342 Dress: Urvashi in Churchgate in Mumbai. They sell unstitched only Grooms suit: Dinbandur,Mumbai. Akaash wanted a mix of three different styles and this place made him exactly what he wanted, with the specific Lord Ganesha embroidery on the outfit that he chose. Sound: Kamal from The Sound Factor Wedding rings: Bellagio Sandton - 0117844062 Shiraz. We simply loved this shoot. It was perfect from the weather to the couple. This location was an idea for about two and a half years. I must say that i couldn't have imagined it to be more perfect. Bhavani has to be one of our biggest Facebook fans and has been promoting us even before we did her wedding. So we hope she loves her pics more then any of our other pics...:)
The weather in Johannesburg, South Africa right now is boarder line unbearable. It’s freezing! Right now, I’m sitting in front of the heater and wishing I could be in Phuket right now (The mailers from trip advisor showing the top 10 beach destinations don't help). So to my Johannesburg and Cape Town readers, I’m sorry if this post makes you wish it were summer already.
Jacelyn and Elmo met in an online chat room 10years ago. They decided to spend their 10year anniversary in Phuket, Thailand. The couple live in Singapore and seem to travel a lot, although when asked what would be there ultimate photo destination they choose South Africa, Cape town. We are anxiously waiting for you guys to come visit so we can get many more happy clicks. We did this shoot in old Phuket town where we were not short of amazing textures and colors to work with. The couples must see and do’s in Phuket: Must see: Promthep Cape Must do: Snorkeling in phi phi island Must eat: White Box restaurant (Romantic Sea Side Dinner) The wedding took place at the DLI hall in Durban, Kasha wore a red and green outfit which had gold work on it. It takes a very daring bride to wear red lip stick but Kasha pulled it of perfectly, it went perfectly with the outfit and her look. Their MC Rahul was really entertaining this was our first experience with him and I must say we highly recommend him. It was at this wedding I realized how great technology is, as the bride was walking down people whipped their ipads to take pictures of the bride and off course face book it immediately. For the location we looked for something classical and old and we also managed to slip in something grungy, which makes for an amazing contrast.
