Mayuri and Yash had a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Durban botanical gardens. It wasn't meant to be a tented garden wedding but a week before the wedding it rained, almost every day. I was looking forward to this wedding especially because we hadn't shot an outdoor wedding for quite some time and I didn't know when (if ever) we would actually get a chance again to shoot a wedding in the botanical gardens. I love the botanical gardens as a wedding venue however I don’t understand why photographers insist on using it for the couples shoots as there are so many other beautiful places to shoot in Durban like the beach (if one is really stumped for a location). So as you can imagine we didn't do our shoot at the botanical gardens. We actually got a chance to shoot inside of Moses Mabhida Stadium, it was pure luck and had a lot to do with Mitesh’s amazing people skills. I am now convinced he can get us into any location. We also shot at the famous cable cars on Durban's beachfront. I'm sure many people will have the same childhood memory I had of riding in these. It was scary to be honest, and as a kid I never realized how high it actually goes. I managed to put my fear aside and get some amazing shots of Mayuri and Yash, and I even managed to not fall out of the car.

We woke up early for a sunrise shoot, it was strangely cold for Dubai. Little Hashay stole the show that morning. He is one daring kid that loves water. He first started by dipping his toes in the water then he was knee high, and five minutes later he was sitting in the water. Even though it was freezing he was content and refused to move. Hashay is such a cute cuddly happy baby and with the most adorable smile
We've got some exciting news for our India and Dubai Fans. We will be traveling to:
India from the 8th-14th feb 2013 Dubai from the 14th-17th Feb 2013. We will be taking on a few couples and some kids/family shoots during that time. please email us for more info [email protected] When I look at these shoots, I can hardly believe we did this. Mits and I have come a long way in the past 4years and it’s thanks to all my couples. Without their confidence in our ideas we wouldn't have seen some of the most beautiful places. If you've ever seen spring blossoms you'll agree with me when I say it takes your breath away. I must admit timing these flowers all the way from Johannesburg was not fun. I'm a perfectionist and once I have an idea in my head it very difficult to let go of the idea. How beautiful would a small intimate wedding would look in between these isles of trees? Looking at these photos now I almost forget that it was about 10degrees that day. The 3 of us were warm but Sheetal braved the cold in this beautiful outfit. Their Indian wedding took place in summer place Johannesburg around March this year, we managed to shoot them in the wedding outfit but not the reception outfit hence we decided to do another shoot. There colour of her reception lehenga was so bright and vibrant, she looked beautiful in any location you put her in. I was quite chuffed that the mountains turn purple in franschhoek at sunset, it matched here outfit perfectly! If you missed there beautiful garden wedding on our blog click here Shoot anything in India is always such a pleasure especially with Destination Indian wedding photography being our line of work. Every corner and ally presents a new photo opportunity. It really is a photographer dream. The gateway of India is a popular landmark in India. I remember it faintly from a family trip we took to India 8years ago. Faintly, because we were moody
teenagers at the time who refused to get out of the car and only saw it through a car window in between a sleep. Thou times have changed since then and even thou sleeping is still my absolute favourite pass time, I tend to see far more of the places I visit and now hate being hotel bound. Visiting India presents its own challenges but visiting India during monsoon season presents an entirely different set of challenges. For this shoot monsoon season is probably the best time to shoot at the Gateway. Rainy weather means that it won’t be as crowed, partially cloudy skies take the focus of all the people in the background and the best thing of all, we get awesome reflections. This was a fun afternoon shoot with lots on puddles and soaked Shoes. Enjoy the pictures and don’t forget to like us on Facebook |
