Three days after Diwali we were jetting of for our first wedding of the season. Vanessa and Santosh wedding was a small temple wedding with about 30 guests. We had loads of time between the wedding and the reception. We were able to do a our couples shoot in the wedding and reception outfit and 3 different places. And i finally got the beach shoot I've been dying to do since we started shooting in Durban. It has never been possible prior to this because of all the late weddings, so I was particularly happy when Vanessa mentioned that her wedding had to be moved from 3 to 12... In between the fun shoot, Mitesh managed to almost loose his shoes in the water. more images
Durban has become our second home lately. We start our day of at the Hilton hotel where Ianthee was having her hair and makeup done. Thankfully we had cloudy weather so we could do our location shoot at midday. I personally would have loved to go to the beach as but it was extremely windy and highly unlikely for a pre wedding shoot, unless we wanted a sandy bride. I have to admit when we do wedding we never expect it to run according to plan and on time. However Ianthee said we’d be done at 6 and we were actually done at 6 on the dot. I personally don’t like eating at weddings not because the food is bad it just because I cover wedding almost every other weekend, however the food at this wedding was exceptional and different.

If you follow my blog you will remember this couple. We did there lovely autumn themed engagement shoot a few months ago. Well I can promise I didn’t get Kamini and Dilan up at the crack of the dawn this time, as they had their Wedding at 3:30pm. This wedding took place in the temple, which was a small intermit function. It was then followed by our location shoot at the metro train repair yard (which was quite dusty and dirty) but perfect for the grudge look we were after and I’m sure Dilan was happy there was no rolling around in a heap of dry leaves. The reception was held at Birchwood conference centre, which is a surprisingly huge venue. More images 30th April 2011
If I had to choose a colour to describe this wedding it would definitely be pink. Melissa wore the prettiest sari with jewelry that complimented it perfectly. The jewelry was rather different as it had stones the colour of coral. Between Melissa and I I’m not quite sure who wanted a beach shoot more. Unfortunately it wasn’t our luck this time, however not all was lost as we managed to get the amazing Tongaat hills which were equally as beautiful with a gorgeous sunset. We actually kidnapped the couple just to make this happen so you can imagine the scene. We had a getaway car parked at the exit and manage to whisk our lovely couple away for 15min totally unnoticed.
